On July 25, Just before Ford launched it 2011 Explorer, the number of the followers in the Fords’ facebook group was a little under 40,000. As of today, the number of the followers is over 55,000.
Many companies are now using social media as part of their advertising strategy to promote their products and services. With the launch of the 2011 Ford Explorer, the company showed that it can use Facebook successfully to its advantage.
Number of the employees at Ford is very high and they could do it successfully by leveraging the strength of its employee. The flow and the euphoria created by them in terms of the messaging and the posting then creates the right atmoshphere to take the campaign to the next level.
The 2011 Ford Explorer comes equipped with many new features – the two most important ones are the Eco Boost and the Curve Control. Using Eco Boost, the company has been able to improve the fuel efficiency by around 20% or more. The curve control is a new technology where the microcontroller in the Explorer detects the degree of the curvature by know the amount of the turn of the steering in a given amount of time and the speed of the car. It then uses these two parameters to predict if the car is running too fast. If it does find it beyond the limit it applies brakes automatically which reduces the car speed to a reasonable limit withing 1 second.
