2012 Ford Explorer

The 2012 Ford Explorer is set to introduce some unique features but it is also expected that it will be having some features of earlier 2011 Ford Explorer.

Story of 2012 Ford Explorer starts from Explorer America concept vehicle at the 2008 North American International Auto Show which continues till now. The main idea was to built a vehicle with less weight but improve the drivability. From 2011, Ford Explorer SUVs are categorized as the fifth generation of such type of vehicles. The model has 3 bar grille front with chrome strips with matching colors of the body. With Four doors, 2010 Ford Explorer has the capacity to accommodate up to 7 passengers. Feature like three row sitting arrangement and options of folding the seats completely offers to convert the vehicle in a cargo van with extra ordinary cargo floor. The vehicle is equipped with tinted glass power windows and a wider sunroof. The 2010 Ford Explorer comes with 17” steel wheel with the option of 18” alloy wheel.
Apart from all other features, engine and fuel economy is a major concern for many users of SUVs and big vehicles. In the case of the 2010 Ford Explorer, it come dual mechanisms. The first is 2.0 liter turbo with 4 cylinder Eco boost engine. Eco boost is capable to generate 275 HP and a torque of 280 lb.ft. The second mechanism is 3.5 liter TiVCT six cylinder V6 Eco boost twin turbo engine which generates up to 340 horsepower and a torque of 340 lb.ft. TiVCT stands for Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing and the technology uses oil pressure to adjust valve opening and closing events. Luxury demands price so as this vehicle too demands. The initial cost of the 2012 Ford Explorer is expected to be around $28,000.
